NEW YORK STATE OFFERS CASH INCENTIVE TO PURCHASE ENERGY EFFICIENT COMMERCIAL CLOTHES WASHERS The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority has recently added commercial coin-operated front load washing machines to the list of eligible products for incentives under the New York ENERGY Star Products Program for Residential Multifamily Buildings (Apartment buildings).

The program offers:
• Free assessment of appliances and lighting
• Free tenant and building staff education seminars
• Cash incentives to replace old appliances
• Assistance with bulk purchasing of new appliances

A building you own or manage is eligible for the incentives as long as it consists of two or more units and receives electricity from any of the following utilities:
• Con Edison
• Niagara Mohawk
• Central Hudson Gas & Electric
• Orange & Rockland
• NYSEG
• Rochester Gas & Electric

Apartment building owner/managers can receive up to $150.00 incentive per washer. Only equipment with the ENERGY STAR mark is eligible. All Speed Queen commercial Horizon front load washers qualify.
